There are three basic levels of analysis: psychological, biological, and environmental. Some other perspectives are: behavioral, cognitive, neuroscience, developmental, evolutionary and. 1960"s had cognitive revolution, study inner mental processes: behavioral. Was said that the mind is an off limits black box only concerned with what"s in the black box. Outer behaviors should be studied while inner complex mechanisms are too complex to study. Behavior modifications if something is pleasant you"ll keep doing it : cognitive. Operates at the psychological level of analysis. Uses models to describe how the mind functions. Models used to create, modify and organize to explain complex processes and make predictions. E. g. a toy airplane can help us understand the real airplane before its built. Single memory model, its easier to forget what you just learned compared to what you"ve known for ages. No model is true or correct : biological / neuroscience (francis crick)
