Document Summary

Seeing visual cues is more important than the actual source of the sound. The eyes is just as instrument to collect, focus and sense the light stimulus. Eyes process light to visualize the world. Light travels as waves; and vary 2 respects: Variation in amplitude affect the perception of brightness: amplitude: height of each wave; indication of perceived brightness. The greater the amplitude, more light is being reflected/emitted by object. So that object appears brighter or more intense: wavelength: distance between peaks of successive waves. Variation in wavelength affect perception of color measured in nanometer (nm) Smaller wavelength refers to light waves with higher frequency because there"s less distance between successive peaks. Larger wavelength refers to light waves with lower frequency. Humans are only sensitive to a tiny portion of total range of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. This tiny portion that we"re sensitive to is the visible spectrum. The shortest wavelength we can see: 360 nm.
