Demotive hierarchy = the dark blue are on the bottom: maslow also talked about motives that are not in the hierarchy, they don"t develop at any particular time, they don"t fit in the hierarchy but present in some degree in individual after birth, some of us has high cognitive/aesthetic needs, some has low, this level remained the same throughout life , cognition needs are needs for exploration, for understanding, curiosity, discovery. But maslow said for some individual, this may not happen, in particular, when individuals have always have their lower needs met, like they"ve never known hunger/lack of safety, in this circumstances, when the bottom needs are no longer met, the hierarchy does not collapse, people still continue to be motivated by the upper level needs: ex: imagine you"re someone who never knows hunger/thirst, never been in danger, life is structure, the physical/safety needs has been met.
