Kitty genovese: screamed for help for a long time, no one called the police or helped her so she died. 1964 a lot of people wondered if new yorkers are evil since they didn"t help. Why did no one help: new yorkers are not cruel, if there was one witness they would call the police, but bc there were many witnesses no one called the police. Yes its an emergency but surely someone else is better equipped to help so they can take care of it, we find a number of reasons that someone else should get involved (human laziness) As soon as you teach them that (remove social pressure) The cool kids are doing it, if i disagree then i"ll be ostracized, if i binge drink then i will be popular to do.
