It"s really hard to do something that makes you look bad in front of yourself: mirrors induce high self-awareness such that you are made to make dispositional attribution rather than a situational attribution. Set up a task where you don"t want to end up looking stupid. Cheating was considered if you continue to work on the assignment after bell went off. The ra went away and left them with the assignment when the bell went off: iv: p. o. v (mirror vs. mirror, dv: % cheating. Everyone had mirror, some people had no reflective surface of a mirror. Result: those who had to look at themselves on the mirror were very unlikely to cheat vs. those who didn"t have a mirror. Research evidence (schachter & singer"s 1962) to decide that you were happy. Participants came into lab and they were injected with a vitamin and then take cognitive task to see what"s in the drug.
