Prejudice arises from competition (real or imagined) between groups. Arises when there is commotion between groups. This competition can be based on material goods. If one group affects your self esteem, that can cause prejudice. Perceived or actual threats to material goods or self-esteem. Competition over material goods can lead to: Out group is anyone who is outside my own in-group. This can be reversed by making the group members work together. This goal is something that is above us. Something that the two groups need to work to getting for a greater purpose.
