Say, this blue gene causes the person to be nice, act altruistically. She loses one baby but the recipient gains two. She has an affect on the identical gene in the recipient"s body. There were 4 babies, now there are 5. Selection will favour this, more blue copies in the population than before. 1:1 interactions where my cost is smaller than your benefit will evolve.
