More rarely we encounter kind of things that might threaten our lives ! Diseases of af uence: diseases you get as you age (upper-middle class rich diseases like heart disease etc) ! Three things that we need to do to be healthy: eat healthy, exercise regularly, get enough sleep ! Why don"t we take care of ourselves better? uncontrollable circumstances, laziness, socioeconomic status, distractions, healing is somebody else"s job ! Hospitals in canada originally only cared for the poor ! Hospitals started in quebec, set up by the catholics there! Hospitals were usually non-pro t, so there was a separation between providing health care and pro t ! For a long time religion did in uence how we thought of illness!
