The sociological imagination allows people to understand the relationship between: social structure and human agency, processes and structures, psychology, biology, and sociology, public or social issues and private troubles, nature and nurture. The more strongly anchored or attached a person is to society (through their social relationships, such as marriage), the less likely they are to commit suicide. Differences suicide rates for gender, single or married. People who belong to social groups who evolved integration typically did not commit suicide rather than those who were not involved. Suicide rates are associated with social solidarity. Social solidarity: the frequency of integration within a social group. If level of solidarity is moderate in social groups it decreases the suicide rate. Societies characterized by low social solidarity will give high rates of suicide. Women have more solidarity due to emotional ties to society. Faith didn"t promote as much integration or solidarity. Order theories: supports status-quo (what you see around you)
