Social strat patterns of social inequality that exists b/c of how wealth, power and prestige are distributed across society and passed down from generation. The gap between the richest and poorest canadians have grown. Problem with child poverty worsen in the last decade. If we think about poverty, there"s been some improvement in canada: especially for elder canadians, it tells us that social policy is very important, our government decided to enact, tells us that social structure is imp. Family structures, relationship status and single parent houses all matters: single parents and elders are at higher risk of poverty. Big differences when we compare countries: single parents in canada a disproportionate numbers in female experience low income, cross-national rates in poverty. If you just work hard enough, and if you are very determined, you can become rich. Everyone has an equal chance of being success this is what is believed.
