Eg. police, judges, lawyers, probation officers, prison officials, etc. But because of medicalization, also the helping professions: Eg. counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers etc. Whether informal or formal, the question to ask: how does the labeling of. Generalization: formal agents of social control work within organizations, therefore, there is a need always to consider the organizational context. Organizational view of the client: ideal types, institutional stereotypes (labels) and typifications. Organizational procedures and routines: recipes for action , procedures for processing deviants.
