Exists in the objective experiences of deviant actors. Ie. is an inherent or essential property/characteristic of individuals. All non conforming behavior a violation of social norms. Are violations of a natural moral order. Assumes definitions of deviance are universally known and shared. Focus and concern is on the causes of deviant behavior.
