The social psychology of mental health part ii. Looked at how people could come together and not only get peer supported, but diminish the stigma associated with mental illness and the institutional environment. Allowing the individuals to successfully achieve their aspirations. But generally it does create an environment where everyone is welcome and they feel safe. Have a history of mental or emotional illness . Be willing and able to become involved in one or more of the clubhouse units . Be living in the community, or if in the hospital, have a definite discharge plan . Arguments: restricting of age (youth and seniors past 65). Many people use drugs and alcohol to help deal with their problems that they may struggle with relapse or finding help. Some people may abuse it, although community based there are still many rules because these are usually government funded which have their own rules and these can cause problems.
