The theoretical ideas of immanuel wallerstein, talking about wallerstein"s ideas about world systems, and particularly the capitalist world system. Conceptual scheme, has been argued that it is difficult to neatly categorize countries based off of his conceptual scheme. Core states, peripheral areas, and semi-peripheral areas, it has been argued that there is a lot of difficulty in particular identifying countries that would be considered as being in the semi- peripheral areas b) A second criticism that has been leveled against wallerstein, focuses on his analysis of classes, wallerstein focuses on the relationship between the core, the periphery and the semi-periphery. Some neo-marxist"s have argued that since he is focusing on these relationships he is missing what is really important, saying he is loosing sight of what is really important which is the relationships between classes in different societies. Compare two different theorists who are trying to understand economic globalization from two different perspectives.
