Marx"s analysis of exploitation and alienation: the nature of productive work. Productive work is good because the human ability to create things is satisfying and rewarding. Productive work is also good because it allows us to be social and reflect our communal nature. Productive work is turned into something bad because under the capitalist mode of production, productive work does involve two negative characteristics: the exploitation of works and the alienation of works: exploitation. Refers to a process through which the property class appropriates the labour effort of the property less class for its own material advantage: the commodity and its properties. Every commodity has two properties use value and exchange value. Use value: value of commodity to satisfy human want (ex: automobile commodity has a use value because it satisfies the human want of transportation) Exchange value: value of commodity in the market place (ex: automobile has an exchange value in the market.
