Homophobia: range of negative attitudes about homosexuality or those those perceived as being: worked to marginalize lgbtq+ individuals for being different". Homophobic bullying: homophobic bullying: hostile and offensive action against lgbtq or perceived to be. For example, verbal, physical, social exclusion or emotional actions: impact of homophobic bullying, feelings of self-loathing and worthlessness, distinction between bullying and banter based on subjective interpretation of the individual. For example, if it taken as bullying, consistent, deliberate and intends harm it can be considered bullying rather than banter. Effects of homophobia: homophobia effects everyone lgbtq+ member, straight individual or ally by creating pressure to conform to gender role and sexuality norms, discourages individuals from getting involved. For example, women being afraid of playing a male-dominated sport in fear of being labelled as a lesbian. Those who do not confirm can be kept from participation since there is no clear place for them: sport as a prime site for homophobia bullying especially for youth.
