It"s meant to be an all inclusive umbrella term for a-sexuals, queer folks, trans people, and intersex people. It"s a bit easier to type than lgbtttiqq+ Sex: doctors define sex mostly based on genetalia size, sometimes they include kinds of chromosomes, genetics, and hormones. Gender: term used to speak about our sense of our self as male/female/trans and our adherence to cultural norms about what is masculine or feminine. We express and confirm gender all the time. Sexual orientation: is an emotional, romantic, sexual, or affectional attraction to another person. Not dependent upon a person"s gender identity or out ability or willingness to adhere to cultural norms of gender. Patriarchy: describes authority and control exercised by men over women in our society. Also refers to a state of affairs, control in institutions and an ideology which is embedded in the culture of a society.
