We think it is rare: 1 in 4 women assaulted in their lifetime, 1 in 7 men (95% from heterosexual women) Rapist are creepy men in alleyways & stranger danger : majority know their perpetrator and it mostly happens at home & school. Rape happens at night : most commonly happens from 3-6pm. Easier for us to believe that rapist are strangers to us.
