Most stories start with a list of ingredients: initial situation, conflict, complication, climax, suspense, denouement, conclusions. Sometimes other things are added to spice up the story. Mom just married dad"s brother and way may be coming. A month after king hamlet dies, his queen (hamlet"s mother) remarries to her late husbands brother (hamlets uncle and new step-dad) Prince fortinbras of norway plans to try to take over denmark. Hamlet"s dad"s ghost tells hamlet that his brother (hamlet"s uncle) was the one who killed him. A ghost shows up on the castle battlements looking a lot like the recently dead king. Ghost has a message for hamlet: his father"s death was no accident. Hamlet is supposed to get revenge for his father: revenge against mother and her husband (the king of denmark) Polonius tells ophelia, the girl hamlet is in love with, to stay away from hamlet. For no reason, months pass and hamlet has yet to get any revenge.
