It is able to differentiate subjective experiences, memory images, and objective reality and attempts to negotiate solution with the outside world: superego represents the moral component of the personality. The superego consists of the conscience ( should nots ) and ego ideal ( shoulds ) In an ideal situation, these 3 components would work together.
