Jews had integrated into german life so well, had become very successful merchants: owned department stores, not every german was in favour of this boycott. 1934: paradoxical nature of the nazi mindset, 1934- laws to do with animal welfare, trappers who used inhumane methods to trap animals for fur business could be thrown into jail or even concentration camp. September 1935: these laws deprived german jews and gypsies of civil liberties, defined them officially as non aryan, not permitted to have sexual intercourse with aryans. 1936: winter and summer olympics held in germany, anti-jewish propaganda was turned down at this time, some rabbis took this opportunity to educate their youth about judaism separate from german. Jewish athletes not allowed on german team- non-aryan, separated from society. July wanted: the evian conference, held in france, purely for show, nothing really happened. 1940: most kill done by bullets before they figured out gasing- expensive and hard on morale.
