Aspirin inhibits some of the protective mucous factors in the stomach. So they made a pill with asa and sodium bicarbonate in it. Problem -> not enough sodium bicarb to be useful. Analgesic and antipyretic like asa but not anti inflammatory. Overdoses can cause fatal hepatic necrosis (destroy liver). Counter irritants and cause local heat and vasodilation.
