The spiritual enlightenment leads to the negation of ethics in favour of universal compassion. In christianity, ethics cannot lead to religion because of sin, conversion is necessary. In both, the self must be slain in order to be healed. However, in judaism, there is a two-way street. God can demand justice of humans and humans can demand justice of god. Gilgamesh has a dream of the great wrestling match at the city gates, ending in an embrace. Enkidu dies and gilgamesh is overcome with grief- and wants to know the meaning of mortality.
