Allows for probing to explore answers of interest. Allow for flexibility of qualitative interviewing while getting multiple perspectives at the same time. Often recorded, allowing to take notes about general responses patterns during the session and then transcribing detailed responses after the session had ended. Any method that examines social life in the form of examining patterns in personal stories. Allows subjects to share their perspectives in their own words- and researchers to examine patterns in people"s perspectives. Focuses on the ways in which participants put their thoughts and feelings about a particular issue or event in their life history-- includes what is going on in society. Life stories give us a unique picture of who we are while linking us to larger social events. Start with a theory then categorize and quantifies dialogue, texts and find.
