Concrete operaional thinking sufer from one important limitaion: children think in an organized, logical fashion only when dealing with concrete informaion they can directly perceive. Diferent conservaion problems solved at diferent ages. According to piaget, the capacity for abstract thinking begins with the formal operaional stage. Adolescents reason much like a scienist searching for soluions in the laboratory.
