Consists of group of people who share a common set of behaviors, beliefs and values (culture). Society functions as a unit; every individual has it"s role (lawmakers, criminals). Follows standards to ensure unity (can be negative). Sociocultural system refers to both the structural and cultural elements of a society. Society is in us naiman sense of belonging, being included. Reflection of people around us, makes us a society. Happens through growth, from family, media, and friends: societies have enduring features, are structured, societies are always in process, rules of behavior: formal (law) & informal (ethics). 4: structures exist outside of or beyond the individual. Institutions reside within societies and organize aspects of human life.
