She is concerned with the potential risks associated with baking and selling cakes. What is law: a law is a rule that be enforced by a court of law. Rules vs laws: all laws are rules, but not all rules are laws, ex rule = you must not speak on your phone during class, ex law= you must not steal your classmate"s textbook. Ethics vs the law: ethical/ moral wrongs are informally sanctions, ex: damaged friendships or reputations. Vs: legal wrongs are formal sanctions, ex: paying money or imprisonment. Some laws are the same across canada (federal laws) Hierarchy of laws: constitution: the supreme law of the land, legislations: laws created by parliament or legislature, courts: Interpret and apply the legislation: create and apply judge-made laws (common law)
