Habituaion: a general process in which repeated or prolonged exposure to a simulus results in a gradual reducion in responding. Example: geing used to a certain smell in an area because you have been exposed to it for so long that it doesn"t afect you as much. Neural plasicity the nervous system"s ability to change: growth of dendrites and axons, synaptogenesis, pruning, during learning: long-term poteniaion (ltp) When a neutral simulus leads to a response ater being paired with a simulus that naturally leads to a response. Example: loud noise whenever a light is turned on. But we keep pairing the cs(condiion simulus) with something that does naturally cause a reacion (let"s call this the us(uncondiional simulus))
