Developmental psychology is the study of how our behavior changes throughout the lifespan, from before birth until death. There are several challenges in researching how and why these changes take place: post hoc fallacy (cid:862)a(cid:863) does(cid:374)"t (cid:272)ause (cid:862)b(cid:863) just (cid:271)e(cid:272)ause it pre(cid:272)edes it, bi-directional influences. Dr. andrew wakefield 1998 publication in the lancet: suggested an association between the mmr vaccine and autism in children, based on casual observations of only 12 children. Many years and much scientific research later there is still no evidence of the link between the two: gilberg & coleman (1996) found slightly lower risk of autism in immunized children.
