Presence of any gaps in the data. Extent of symmetry in the distribution of values. The number of stems should be from 6 to 13 stems. This order is reversed when the stems are negative values. The number of stems should be from 6-13 items. The stem values should be consecutive numbers or repeated numbers. The numbers may each be repeated twice or 5 times. The stem units must be indicated if the stem is not to be taken at face value. Stem unit must represent the actual data value. Blank means that the stem should be taken at face value: stem (10) 2 means 20, not 2. There must be at least one leaf associated with the first and last stem.
