Race: a category of people who share certain common physical traits deemed to be socially significant (naiman, 2012, p. 241). The term racialized is now used to indicate how race is social. Ethnic groups: are distinguished by socially selected cultural traits, rather than physical ones [such as] language, religion, ideology, ancestry and historical symbols (naiman, Ethnic chauvinism: hostility towards other ethnic groups (naiman, 2012). Racism: hostility directed towards people with particular physical characteristics (e. g. skin color, eye shape). Prejudice: attitude of dislike toward individuals based on their membership to a particular group (naiman, 2012, p. 242).
