Deviance admiration: underconformity that is positively evaluated. Eg. attitude towards smoking weed has changed over time. Definitions of deviance change over social space. Eg. different cultures have different practices depending on where they live. Line of what it acceptable and what isn"t. Group of people taking up a certain issue. Cleaning windows and hoping to get money in return. Moral entrepreneurs (wealthy business people) found statistics to frame the kids. Made them look like they were lazy kids who didn"t want to go to school rather than them being homeless, coming from unstable homes, etc. Movement of businesses outside of the downtown core. Remove focus from youth homelessness and create it as a threat to urban. Categories of social identity are constructed around norms of acceptable behaviour, appearance, and beliefs.
