Two ways of thinking about the aims of education: can be thought of as social reproduction: education initiatives can take place in school. Any society needs the education that reproduces the society as it is: other way is education that ends in social transformation. This education will help students ask questions about the sense of their world, not just receive the knowledge. Ask questions in a basic way rather than assume things. Trc calls to action: they call action specifically for post secondary education. Our learning: the subject in our course has raised many questions, there are many ways we can encounter barriers to our learning. Raby & pomerantz, ""playing it down/playing it up": they"re aware of the fact that they don"t want to be too smart, because that will make them less popular, there is a great tension between girlhood, and smartness.
