Tradiionally, old canada has played the primary role of naion-builder. As the global world collapses new ideas on what ______ means emerge. Many of the arguments made on the realiies of globalizaion address: the loss of naional idenity, decline of power, the increasing privaizaion of services leading to migraion of jobs out of country. There are some of the terms applied to globalizaion and each reveals a tension within naional idenity and strength. Feelings of naional idenity are fostered through school, naional anthem, olympics and use oten ampliied during imes of tension and conlict. When we speak of globalizaion what we oten imagine is not just an acceleraion of cultural exchange, but also a new set of cultural pracices.
