What is sex? sex is the manifestation, or is the product of patriarchy. When we talk about sex, were talking about physiological. We live in a society where sex and the body is a social construct. We socially construct the body in essentialist framework. That frme work dichomots stats of male or female. Because the body looks very different, every genetalia looks different. Anne fosto sterling, genesists, studies how sex is a social construction: looks at intersexed identities. Although they get lumped into 3 categories, they in fact have multiple variations within the categories. The medical profession constructs the body in essentialst, specific ways. She lumps them into three umbrellas, but within these umbrellas theres multiple forms. She looks at true hermaphrodites, male hermaphrodites and female hermaphrodites. Half both male and female genetelia, and reproductive parts, like worms and bullfrogs. Worms were reproduced by themselves, they would impregnate each other.
