Document Summary
Today"s agenda: the nature of groups, team concepts. Gratitude + what are you going to do for someone else: nature of groups. A group: two or more individuals, interacting and interdependent, who come together to achieve particular objectives: formal groups: defined by the organization"s structure with designated work assignments that establish tasks, target a specific task such as policy making. Informal groups: alliances that are neither formally structured nor organizationally determined. Performing stage is the longest stage (when things get done) First meeting is not as productive as following meetings especially after transition (when deadline is getting close) then people become more productive. Even out your tasks that way less stress and work is required near the end. Team: a group of individuals whose efforts result in performance that is greater than the sum of the individual inputs: key groups/ team concepts. Important: not all groups are teams, but all teams are groups.
