You may apply for a spousal support order on either act but you must be married to apply for the divorce act, anyone in marriage like relationship can apply under family law (c) legal principles. Judge looks at 2 circumstances: functions performed by each spouse in the relationship-divison of labour, length of relationship-longer length means higher money.
