Ring vaccination use runners to find those with the disease and vaccinate all neighbors around them rather than vaccinate 80% of the pop. (not enough vaccines to go around) Using pictures to locate people with smallpox ( have you seen a person that looks like this?) Only human to human transmission and symptoms of disease are very visible (ex. rashes) Everyone knows about the disease b/c it is an ancient disease that many people got infected with.
