❖ WHAT CAUSES THE IDEOLOGY OF FEMINISM TO BE FORMED?
➢ Women, unlike men, often receive unfair treatments by the society and they
have to endure discriminatory practices that are placed on them
➢ Their freedom is often being restricted/ limited
➢ Values and qualities of women are often being based on male values
❖ THE PURPOSES OF FEMINISM ARE:
➢ To challenge the traditional perspectives on women
➢ To gain equal rights and freedom as men
➢ To be respected and to improve the ways society treats women
o IMPORTAN TERMS THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
▪ Liberation:
- Liberation is the main goal of feminism and this is what most women want to
achieve.
- Liberation works on freeing the human potential that has been stifled by
organizations and values of society.
-However, the liberation of women and offer them opportunities and equal
rights is still a big struggle.
❖ WHAT IS FEMINISM
▪ Feminism:
- It is a perspective that look at the society as patriarchal.
-It seeks to achieve independence and equality for woman.
-Feminism developed because women were responsible for domestic and poorly
paid labour.
-Often being looked down by the society and their involvement in business and
politics was strictly limited.
-So, they did not receive equal rights as men.
o THERE ARE THREE MAIN TYPES OF FEMINISM WHICH ARE:
