Try to think of some research questions that cannot be examined using experiments. Often referred to as nonexperimental research b/c results of many of these types of studies summarized w/ particular measure of association. Correlation - statistical association b/w 2 variables such as scores of x related to scores of y. Occur when 2 variables move in same direction as one another. Both travelling together but can be in either direction. When 2 variables move in opposite direction. Lower scores on x tend to be associated w/ higher scores on y. As one goes up, other goes down, vice versa.
