What"re the differences clarification of the supporting desires table. Why social support is important and critical to romantic and close relationships. How social support is hard to give sometimes. We often experience stress within our relationships; we also experience stress outside of our relationships. Stress outside of relationships can and will influence the stress within our relationships. Social support: responsiveness to another"s needs and, more specifically, as acts that communicate care; that validate the other"s worth, feelings, or actions; or that facilitate adaptive coping with problems through the provision of information, assistance or tangible resources. If people have very responsive partners who are caring, who will validate one"s fears and anxieties, this is beneficial to the person and the relationship. As a species, humans are very vulnerable and weak. We"re really bad at surviving by ourselves. As a consequence, we"ve evolved to work well together - not just with romantic partners but also with kin, close others, etc.
