Limits of self-reports: people aware of their psychological characteristic, people may e motivated to present themselves positively. Advantages of self reports: convenient, easy to obtain. Main advantage: people know a lot about themselves, easy to collect large amounts of data. Disadvantages: people self-descriptions on questionnaires can be influences by paraphrasing and order of items, people may like or unconsciously distort their reponses.
