Levels of body organization: atoms, molecules, macromolecule, cells, tissues, organ. The organs are part of a bigger organ system; heart is part of the cardiovascular system. Skeletal system: provides support and protection and store minerals predominantly calcium and we utilize it if needed also blood formation: skeleton is separated into axial (skull and vertebrate, ribs) and appendicular( the bones that facilitate movements) Muscular system: generates locomotion, by moving the bone and movement of muscle uses energy and produces heat. It also covers the bone fragment and so supports the body. Similar to the bone portion there is a axial( maintaining the core of the body) and appendicular( the muscle attached to the appendages and affect movement). Integumentary system: is the skin. has the epidermis and below is the dermis with glands. Hair and nails are also part of this system, they are derived within the skin.
