What are the characteristics of life: order, evolutionary adaptation, response to the environment, reproduction, growth and development, energy processing, regulation. Evolution is the development of new organisms over-time. These living organisms would have developed from earlier organisms with developed characteristics: the increase of differences means that the organisms are less related. Classi cation is typically a way of organizing species. A taxonomy is a branch of biology that names and classi es these organisms. All organisms are placed in one of three domains; eukarya, bacteria, or archaea. Typically there is a cell wall present outside the. The number of organelles is dependent on the requirements of the cell, and the speci c functions. Classi cations based on c-sources (building cell materials: autotroph > utilizes inorganic carbon (co2, heterotroph > uses organic carbon (sugars) Classi cations based on energy sources: phototroph > obtains energy from light (hence photo , chemotroph > utilizes energy from chemicals (organic and inorganic)
