Revisiting our flow chart, you can see we have looked at the general principles of differentiation in part one. In part two, we will focus on explaining how teachers can differentiate content, process, and product to respond to learner needs. The learning outcome for di part 2. 1 is to define and explain differentiating content. Content is the input of teaching and learning. It"s what we teach, or what we want students to learn. The goal of differentiating content is to offer approaches to input (information ideas and skills) that meet students where they are and vigorously support their forward progress. Differentiation of content can be thought of in two ways. In differentiating content, we can adapt to what we teach. We can adapt or modify how we give students access to what we want them to learn to recall the difference between adaptations and modifications discussed in screencast 1. 4.
