Is defined as the subjective experience of the world, our bodies, our mental perspectives. Waking and sleeping thoughts can both be; bizarre, fragmented, contain captivating images. Plan for future, express creativity, problem solving. Subjective and private same event is experienced differently. Continuously changing state changes based off attention and awareness. Self-report direct insight into subjective experience. Behavioural task performance (such as the rouge test). More objective than self report but have to infer state of mind. More self-reflective (awareness) causes to the capability of being able to touch their noses. Preconscious: outside awareness, but easily recalled (eg. how old is your grandma?) There is planning, studying or learning, and flexibility (open to change) Automatic with little or no conscious effort. Well learned routines, there are no changes, faster executions and less brain recruitments.
