Tests are very essay based, she likes when people know the readings and can connect the dots. Evolution into papyrus, widespread literacy becoming the norm. 151 --> content of a medium is always a message of another medium. Ie. facebook --> "pr" people --> they can still hound you, even if they"re all short and concise messages. Message is being massaged out by using that medium. Ie. coaxing out more information via photography (for example) Hot medium --> radio, needs interaction (war of the worlds --> actual panic based on book reading on radio!) Cold medium --> tv, back in the 50"s --> maybe not as much today, because we are perpetually being bombarded with "interaction" opportunities. Guttenburg ushered in a new age in human history --> literacy was made a lot more common. For mcluhan, a lot of print culture is responsible for homogenizing society. Everyone"s connected, things like facebook have evened the playing field on one hand.
