Karl von frisch described and interpreted honey bee dances, the most complex system of communication in insects. Experimental approach to study the dance language. They also receive the sample of nectar and pollen, food quality. Studied the dance language in 25 years. The only scientist that worked with bee that received nobel prize. Bees from observation hive trained to visit feeding locations. The person at the feeding station paint and mark those bees that went to feed. When these marked bees return to the hive, we can observe the characteristics of the dance, see if info conveyed is accurate.
