Systemic, participatory approaches to understanding and promoting human health and wellbeing in the context of complex social and ecological interactions. The way you do research is different from environmental health. A mindset that orients a process of inquiry that is meant to lead to come action or change. Participation (involve as many people as you can) System thinking (understanding all the impacts, weather patterns, climate change) Social and gender equity (social equity important) Knowledge to action (journal articles, engage with media, public presentations, lead to some changes) Health of humans, animals, and ecosystems is intimately connected. You can do ecohealth research without looking at animals at all. Interdisciplinary approach (less likely to involve community members) Integrated human and vet med and public health. The two are increasingly becoming similar to each other. They know a lot of the environment in order to survive. Need food that has long shelf life, it is not always fresh.
