Increased acivaion of right prefrontal cortex: involved in regulaion of emoions. Richer networks of associaion for memories with negaive emoions. May pay more atenion to unpleasant informaion: depression (sadness) At least 1 symptom with * must be present. Symptoms interfere with funcioning and cause marked distress: *sad/low mood, *anhedonia (ex. Diathesis stress: diathesis (vulnerability) -> stressful life event -> depression.
